Our clinic strives to offer patients a warm and personalised service. During your first consultation with our liposuction surgeon Dr Colin Tham, he will focus on finding out your wants and goals for your body.
Dr Tham will then conduct a comprehensive one-to-one body examination to assess your suitability for VASER Lipo, and the areas to be treated and amount of fats to be removed.
It is important for you to communicate what you hope to achieve through VASER Lipo and raise any questions regarding the treatment process, from pre-surgery, the procedure to aftercare.
Following this consultation, Dr Tham will personalise a unique treatment plan for you and provide you instructions on how to prepare for the surgery.
The VASER Lipo procedure will take place in our fully-equipped, VASER-certified day surgery clinic. This is a minimally-invasive surgery that is performed under general anaesthesia.
First, Dr Tham will inject a tumescent fluid through small, strategic incisions of about 3 to 6mm. This is to help numb the treatment site and shrink the blood vessels to minimise bleeding during the surgery.
Next, a specially-designed VASER probe is inserted through the incisions. This probe emits high-frequency ultrasound waves that break down stubborn fats at the targeted site(s). These fats that are emulsified are then gently suctioned out. The precision of the ultrasound probe allows specific areas to be treated with minimal damage done to surrounding tissues and blood vessels.
After the procedure, Dr Tham will offer you aftercare recommendations and tips, based on your body condition. You will experience some swelling and bruising, and pain-relief medication will be prescribed to ease any discomfort. Most of our patients return to normal activities within three days.
The first three weeks post-surgery, you are advised to avoid any strenuous activity. A compression garment will also be provided to help your body heal better and ease the swelling.
A follow-up session will be scheduled for you where Dr Tham will assess your recovery and perform lymphatic drainage massage to help drain off any excess fluids from the surgical site. In some cases, he may order for further aesthetic treatments to touch up the skin.
You should expect to see the best results from VASER Lipo in six months. During this time, should any complication arise, please contact our clinic for assistance.
